The Dresden legend

Article Abstract:

Many antiwar activists considered the 1945 attack on Dresden, an old and graceful German city on the Elbe River, as a war crime, but the real story behind the attack was very different. Dresden backed Adolf Hitler and it shifted to a wartime footing with the large Zeiss-Ikon camera factory converted to make fuses and bombsight optics and thus the U.S. Army Air Forces attacked the city.
