The RMN human resource challenge

Article Abstract:

The Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) outlook on Human Resource (HR) is undergoing a revolutionary change that it must be looked at in a strategic perspective, as it no longer plays a lesser role as compared to other imperatives. The RMN Human Resource Strategic Planning is trying to resolve the apparent contradiction between hard HRM, which is the instrument approach through effective, rational management of the HR, and soft HRM, which is the humanistic touch emphasizing the role of communication, motivation and leadership in achieving organizational goals.
