The Virginia attack boat brings new potency to the fleet

Article Abstract:

The Navy has established a new baseline for the design and development of the Virginia-class submarine, which has been an innovative platform for both its war fighting capabilities and for its unique and effective design, development, construction and testing processes. Virginia (SSN 774), which is the namesake of a new class of submarines optimized for both deep water and littoral and a major achievement for submarine construction, will be delivered on time to the Navy in June 2004.

DD(X): A lethal warship leads the way to the NavyEs future fleet

Article Abstract:

DD(X) is designed as a multimission surface combat tailored to provide offensive, distributed and precision firepower at long range in support of US and allied forces maneuvering ashore. An integrated power system, electric-drive propulsion, advanced survivability features, optimal manning, improved shipboard habitability and low cost ownership cost are some of the principal attributes of DD(X).

SSGN conversion will boost offensive power of the fleet

Article Abstract:

The US Navy is obtaining four Single Ohio-class guided-missile submarine (SSGNs) that would be armed with 154 Tomahawk cruise missiles to increase the offensive power of the fleet. The four Ohio-class SSGNs provide key capabilities of the Sea Power 21 pillars of Sea Strike and Sea Basing, while serving as models of the supporting processes of Sea Trial and Sea enterprise.
