The fragile silent service market

Article Abstract:

European companies such as Celsius Group of Sweden have held talks with Howardtswerft Deutsche Werke and Thyssen Nordseewerke for the integration of their diesel-electric hunter-killer submarines (SSKs) production. The impetus for industry integration is the growing need for SSKs among European and Asian Navies. The prominent types of diesel-electric hunter-killer submarines include the Type 212, which is equipped with STN Atlas ISUS 90 sonar system, Type 209 and Agosta-90B.

Naval guns and missiles

Article Abstract:

Medium-calibre naval guns in the 155-mm range are expected to become a major part of ship armaments in the future because of their growing effectiveness in defending against modern hypersonic anti-ship missiles. The increasing emphasis in littoral warfare among recent conflicts has also placed an increasing demand for medium-calibre naval guns. This is further complicated by the pace that mobile land-based guns has developed over the past years.

The sly abyss terminators

Article Abstract:

Torpedoes are the most lethal anti-ship and anti-submarine weapons due to modern technologies. They fall into two categories, heavyweights and lightweights. Heavyweight torpedoes are used by submarines while lightweights are used for anti-submarine warfare. Equipped with guidance systems, torpedoes are designed with narrow diameters to make them more effective in tracking anbd hitting their targets.
