UAE gives green light to Baynunah

Article Abstract:

The United Arab Emirates has given a green signal to the Abu Dhabi shipbuilding contractor to move forward with the project Baynunah light corvette. The project Baynunah will provide UAE Naval Forces a multiusable surface combatant which would be capable of carrying on various operations all over the Gulf region and these corvettes will also work in close connection with the shore based facilities and CN 235 maritime patrol aircraft.

UK Astute class achieves first dive milestone

Article Abstract:

The two days of tests undergone by the new Astute-class nuclear-powered attack submarines of the U.K. Royal Navy is discussed. The test was conducted at the Barrow-in-Furness yard of BAE Systems Submarine Solutions for the submarine that has also undertaken steam trials and dummy torpedoes.

The U.K. Royal Navy's new PAAMS (S) guided weapon system is entering a critical phase of test and trials of development. The PAAMS (S) is designed to meet an operational requirement first articulated in the aftermath of the 1982 Falklands (Malvinas) conflict.
