UK awards cryptographic protection contract

Article Abstract:

The UK Ministry of Defense has awarded Harris Systems Limited a contract to adapt its parent company's Sierra II Programmable Cryptographic module design as the basis of the Common-Good High-Grade INFOSEC Module, or CHIM (P) programme. CHIMP (P) is expected to lead to the introduction of a reprogrammable Core Cryptographic Module (CCM) and the first of the next generation multipurpose, reconfigurable End Cryptographic Units into the UK MoD equipment inventory during 2006, for both enhanced linked and Internet Protocol (IP) packet encryption applications

UK rethinks joint effects computing plan

Article Abstract:

The UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) is planning to acquire an interim Joint Task Management Tool (JTMT), which would complement early versions of the future Joint Effects Tactical Targeting System (JETTS), in order to enhance the capability of forces to perform joint tactical targeting. The JTMT is expected to be modeled on the US Joint Automated Deep Operations Coordination System (JADOCS), used on trial to support operations in Iraq and Afghanistan by the UK forces.
