UK experiments with various classes of UAV for joint needs

Article Abstract:

Under its Joint Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Experimentation Programme (JUEP), the United Kingdom (UK) Ministry of Defense (MoD) is conducting a series of demonstrations that involve the various classes of UAVs. The JUEP, which covers 27 objectives, addresses issues ranging from weaponization to integration into the air tasking order, which will be accompanied by tests flights in the segregated and non-segregated airspace.

Flight of the hummingbird: Long endurance UAVs with a difference

Article Abstract:

A team headed by the original designer of the I-Gnat and Predator family, Abe Karem tested the remarkable endurance UAV at Victorville, California. The Frontier Systems A160 Hummingbird, a helicopter is intended to achieve a range of over 4,500km and an endurance of 40 hours, with a 130kg payload, at altitudes of more than 25,000ft.

EADS reveals plans to test highly advanced technologies for UAVs

EADS has disclosed that it plans to incorporate advanced and enhanced technology into the MALE UAV's being developed for France, Germany and Spain.
