Article Abstract:

The U.S. House of Representatives Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence has attempted to study U.K. intelligence structures by focusing on issues including the relationship between domestic and foreign intelligence gathering. The need for reforms that would range from practical issues like ensuring interoperability of secure communications to finding ways to incentivise the sharing of information between agencies is expressed.

Report points to weaknesses in US intelligence machinery

Article Abstract:

According to Congressman Porter Goss, the US intelligence community must invest in its core business of human intelligence to protect the USA against future terrorist attacks. The report stated that prior to September 11,2001, the Intelligence Community was neither well organized nor equipped and did not adequately adapt, to meet the challenge posed by global terrorists focused on targets within the domestic United States.
