USMC moving sooner to ICAP III Prowlers

Article Abstract:

The US Navy plans to retire 91 of its EA-6B Prowler aircraft and replace them with 84 new EA-18g Growlers. 16 ICAP III EA-6Bs will be transferred to the Marine Corps. Requests for Seven ICAP III conversion kits for the Marine Corps have been approved by the Congress through the FY2007 Department of Defense wartime emergency supplemental funding bill, while 11 more are requested through a proposed FY2008 emergency supplemental bill.

Marines plan to bypass sandy death

Article Abstract:

The new expeditionary vehicle is built to not only to transport marines from ship to shore, but also give them a potent fighting vehicle on land. The devising ways planned by Marine Corps to eliminate the need for staging bases on the shore and go ahead from the sea directly to the inland objectives is discussed.
