Unattended ground sensors

Article Abstract:

The US Army's Future Combat Systems (FCS) is making initiative to meet the need of the battlefield communication by achieving a network system of systems that relies on advanced technologies to link warfighters with both manned and unmanned platforms and sensors, and with each other. One important component of FCS is the unattended ground sensors (UGS) and hence FCS lead systems integrator has chosen Textron Systems Corporation in October 2003 made up of The Boeing Corporation and SAIC, as one of the major FCS industry partners and the sole UGS provider.

Task force all American's response to hurricane Katrina

Article Abstract:

The 82nd Airborne Division formed Task Force (TF) All American from multiple units across the continental United States offered duty forces under the extreme existing conditions of hurricane Katrina devastation. The ability to quickly augment and integrate into the ongoing operations and provide an efficient command and control system that disseminated accurate and timely information throughout the breadth and depth of the relief effort helped bring order to a chaotic situation.
