Danier to open first U.S. store next month

Article Abstract:

Danier Leather Inc. of Toronto, Ontario, will open its first store in the US in November 1998 even though a number of retailers in Canada had difficulty in penetrating the US market. The Toronto company's range of merchandise in its dresses, accessories, leather coats and jackets can help the store establish its brand name and attract patronage, according to industry observers. Danier Leather posted C$804,000, or 11 cents per share, in losses for the quarter ended Sep. 26, 1998, compared with C$923,000, or 75 cents per share, in losses in 1997.
