Jacques Parizeau isolated himself from his colleagues at the 1995 conference of provincial premiers in an apparent effort to win support in Quebec for his sovereignty initiative, but Parizeau's gambit may have failed. Polls show that, as of Aug 1995, less than 45% of Quebeckers favor the referendum.

The National Circus School in Montreal has been training circus performers for 12 years. Each of the school's 32 students pays $1,600 annually for 35 to 40 weeks of grueling individual instruction. The school is a training facility for Cirque du Soleil.
