I.M.F. Warns That U.S. Debt Is Threatening Global Stability

Article Abstract:

The IMF has issued a report that conveys serious concern about the impact of the growing US budget deficit and trade imbalance. It predicts that the US deficit could equal 40% of the total US economy in a few years and force increases in global interest rates that would impact international investments and growth. The US deficit is predicted to exceed $400 billion in 2004.
