Ottawa teams up with three firms on satellite-technology project

Article Abstract:

Canadian Industry Minister John Manley has announced that the Canadian Space Agency has formed a partnership with Telesat Canada, Cambridge, Ont.-based Com Dev International Ltd. and Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue, Que.-based EMS Technologies. The $109 million project will develop a high-speed multimedia payload for the Anik F2 satellite.

Ottawa looks to overhaul Competition Act

Canada's Competition Act may be revised to expand the antitrust powers of Competition Tribunal. The change was announced by Konrad von Finckenstein, the commissioner of the Competition Bureau.
