Volkswagen comes to fork in the road

Article Abstract:

Volkswagen is said to be considering a corporate structure that would serve as a poison pill by splitting the firm into two giant operating groups. The move would be in response to the EU's plan to stripping the company of a special status which the EU said is not in line with its objective of a more open, less protected marketplace. Volkswagen's plan would create a web of subsidiaries with different classes of stock.
