Toronto, Ont.-based MDS Inc., Waterloo, Ont.-based Research In Motion and Mississauga, Ont.-based Certicom Corp. will launch initial public offerings or secondary issues. Industry analysts said that the offerings are moving ahead despite investors' concerns during a volatile period in high-tech markets.

RIM shares jump 11%

Research in Motion's share price increased to $69.60 Canadian on the Toronto Stock Exchange on Feb 26, 2001, the largest one day gain in a one month period. This 11% increase was a major change from the 42% losses during 2000.
