Web sites offer group car buying

Article Abstract:

Www.mobshop.com and Mercata.com are at least two Internet World Wide-Web- based online companies offering discounts to group buyers for bulk purchases of automobiles. MobShop partners with manufacturers, sellers and buyers to generate bulk sales in cars, electronics, sports equipment and other products. Sellers agree to reduced prices if at least five customers agree to buy. The more buyers there are, the lower the prices drop. Mercata.com is negotiating with dealers, other Web sites and auto manufacturers about group car buying.

Muffler shops change tune to tuneups, etc

Article Abstract:

Muffler-repair service shops are converting into shops that do other automobile service work such as air-conditioning, brake, shocks and oil changes because of the dwindling market for their services. Replacement muffler sales have declined by nearly 50% since 1990, thanks in part to the introduction of stainless steel mufflers that could easily last for a decade. Since 1998, all automobile or light trucks released in the market have been equipped with stainless steel mufflers.
