Cellphone makers to display radiation levels

Article Abstract:

Manufacturers of cellular telephones will be required to disclose the specific absorbed radiation (SAR) levels for their devices. The move, which will be enforced by the Cellular Telephone Industry Assn, is in line with increasing concerns regarding mobile phone safety. Disclosing SAR information, which can be requested for specific models from the US Federal Communications Commission, could also protect the cellphone makers from potential lawsuits.
