Energy worldwide

Article Abstract:

The Energy Information Administration's 'International Energy Outlook 1999' report says that oil remains the world's main energy source through 2020. However, its consumption will decrease as more countries shift to natural gas and other types of fuel. Global coal consumption is expected to reach an average rate of 1.6% annually while the use of nuclear power will decline. The development of renewable energy sources will also be hindered by low fossil fuel prices.
