The electric commute

Article Abstract:

The mobility afforded by interstate highways caused a proliferation of automobiles in the US, which congested urban areas, raised smog and carbon monoxide levels, and forced people out of business centers. While electric vehicles are more environmentally sound than internal combustion automobiles, they fail to address the congestion problem. Only electric mass transport sytems such as trolleys, buses and high-speed trains can address these issues simultaneously and effectively.
