Article Abstract:

A new company called Wacker Polymer Systems Korea Inc. has been set up in Korea to market liquid polymer dispersions for the construction markets in South-east Asia. The agreement to strengthen marketing in the region was concluded by German Burghausen-based Wacker Polymer Systems GmbH & Co KG and Air Products Korea Inc., in which Wacker-Chemie holds 80% stake and Air Products & Chemicals Inc. of Allentown, US, 20%.

JAPAN: THERMOPLASTIC POLYURETHANE BY DIC BAYER

Article Abstract:

A new company called DIC Bayer Polymer Ltd in Tokyo is to become operative on 1 June 2000. The 50:50 joint venture of Dainippon Ink & Chemicals Inc. and Bayer AG will take over the thermoplastic polyurethane operations of the two partners. With an initial production capacity of 7,000 tonnes per year, the new company expects to generate an annual turnover of EUR 30mn.

GERMANY: POLYURETHANE SERVICE CENTER FOR BAYER

Article Abstract:

In Germany, Bayer AG has set up Bayer Polyurethane Business Service Center GmbH & Co KG in Neuss to manage the entire sales and logistics activities of the polyurethanes division in Europe. The new unit with eventually 120 staff should improve and speed up service to customers.
