Happy birthday from the IRS

Article Abstract:

Tax-advantaged retirement accounts may be impacted by the Internal Revenue Service rules. These rules are age-based and include withdrawing out of the individual retirement account once the retiree reaches 59 1/2. Withdrawals prior to that would mean a 10% penalty. Excess distribution penalty tax is imposed on those who take two withdrawals within the year they reach 70 1/2. To avoid penalty taxes, it is best to ask for professional financial advice.

Whose life is it anyway? A study in respect for autonomy

Article Abstract:

Precise guidelines for the relationship between ethical principles and respect for autonomy have not been provided either by classical or modern philosophers. The problem in the application of respect for autonomy to real life situations has been analyzed in Brian Clark's play 'Whose Life Is It Anyway?' Keeping the play as the central focus, tensions between respect for autonomy and other ethical and moral concerns have been analyzed.
