Article Abstract:

The G8 meeting in advance of the summit committed themselves to continue supporting AfghanistanEs development effort, to achieve pro-poor growth developing human and institutional capacity. ACBAR launches a code of conduct for NGOs, clarifying that the NGOs are voluntary, not for profit, non-partisan and independent engaged in serving the public good with a special focus on the rights of those who are disadvantaged and vulnerable.

Beyond summit-hopping? G8's retreat to Kananaskis and the way ahead

The rising "soft power" of India and China

This article evaluates soft power in India and China. The author argues political and economic reforms in both countries have allowed their new artists to offer a new image of the two countries throughout the world, paving the way for soft power.
