Concealment and exposure

Article Abstract:

The scope of what is to be considered public domain has expanded in such a way that there has been a great loss of individual privacy. This phenomenon is largely a result of the difficulty of determining standards of reticence and privacy that permit individuals to participate in society without having to surrender their personal concerns to public scrutiny. There is a need to define the boundaries of public space and personal space in order to allow for the preservation of privacy.

Personal rights and public space

Article Abstract:

A professor of philosophy and law feels that personal rights need to be correctly defined and require precise argument and adjustment since they create controversy due to their misinterpretation. They must be guaranteed to individuals so that they can grow and be protected from governmental abuse. The opinion that personal rights can not override public interest is the greatest threat to human rights.

Taxes, redistribution, and public provision

Article Abstract:

Conservative argument against big government is not necessarily synonymous with favoring lower taxes, since tax revenues can promote distributive justice without distribution through public programs. Tax policy should be discussed in the context of the broad concerns of social justice, although this need not include respect for natural property rights.
