Energy, fuel and efficiency: Loft insulation as foreign policy

Article Abstract:

Electricity can be generated anywhere, in a remarkable variety of ways, from enormous to minute, within national borders and this can be done without imported fuel, and alternatively, cogeneration or combined heat and power can be used. The onus is on the governments to take the lead, as fuel security rises up the agenda, improving national energy-service infrastructure can give importing governments essential leverage internationally and time has come to make loft insulation a key element to foreign policy.

Generating power: Nuclear amnesia

Article Abstract:

Several long-time observers of the nuclear disaster such as the US and Britain have experienced the insidious effects of nuclear amnesia and have expressed concerns about energy security, rising electricity prices and climate change. History offers plenty of reasons to steer clear of nuclear power and opt instead for the abundant quicker, cheaper and safer opportunities.
