Factors affecting municipal satisfaction with health care plans

Article Abstract:

Health maintenance organization (HMO) health plans generate a higher level of satisfaction compared to Preferred Provider ORganizations (PPOs) plans and other traditional indemnity plans offered by the local government, as shown by the results of a survey conducted on personnel directors of municipal governments. The difference in satisfaction level can be explained by the existence of several factors, including number of services rendered, employee complaints and health care costs. It was also established that contractual agreements and organizational size do not have a significant impact on the satisfaction level of health care plans.
