Greek-born film-maker Costa-Gavras shares his views regarding the result of the ABC-Disney merger. He says that one advantage the small filmmakers have over the huge conglomerate is its conservatism. He also discusses the basic differences between the different cultures on either side of the Atlantic and how these are manifested in filmmaking and in the films themselves.

The distinction between a city and a countryside and the identity of place are seen to disappear as global population grows to 10 billion by 2050. The megacity that is expected to result out of overpopulation will only be able to remain urbanly civilized if a Singapore-type authority were utilized.
