The ADA agenda: attitude adjustment

Article Abstract:

The passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) requires not only legal compliance but, more importantly, attitude adjustment of management. Although the ADA does not specify preferential treatment must be given to disabled job applicants and employees, it requires equal treatment toward disabled employees, prospective employees and customers. Furthermore, the ADA stipulates that disabled employees must be given the same access to benefits offered to other employees. Businesses and employers who have acquired the attitude adjustment required by ADA will have advantage over less enlightened competition.
