Calling all geese

Article Abstract:

Some Canada geese are not migrating to Canada from the American south as they used to. Residents, as they are called, are the offspring of geese that were bred in captivity and used as live decoys. The practice was outlawed, but the descendants of the geese have nested close to where they were released and have attracted migrating geese to settle down and join them. In addition, especially cold winters in Canada have discouraged migration there. As a result, suburban areas up and down the East coast of the US are complaining about their noise and droppings.

The Middle East II: a proposal for Jerusalem

Article Abstract:

Control of Jerusalem need not be a point of contention between Israel and the Palestinians if they agree to make it an independent city-state similar to the Vatican. Within established boundaries the city govt would be sovereign, with two enclaves for Israeli and Arab nationality respectively. Citizens would retain their prior nationalities, perhaps in addition to being citizens of Jerusalem. The govt would guarantee free access to all major religious sites and holy places.

Contract catering

Article Abstract:

Companies which need to supply meals to staff can consider employing their own catering staff or contracting the work out. It is particularly important to offer a meals service when businesses are remote and operate day and night, but such a service can also assist in a healthy well-motivated workforce. Contracting out the service to an expert relieves the company of responsibility and can cut costs.
