Clinton, Yeltsin continue debate over Russia-Iran nuclear deal

Article Abstract:

The May 9-10 summit in Moscow between President Bill Clinton and Boris Yeltsin revolved around the issue of Russian nuclear cooperation with Iran. The Clinton administration has been pressuring Russia to cancel the January 1995 contract with Iran for the supply of one light-water reactor and related technology. U.S., Seoul to continue talks on future of missile accord

Article Abstract:

South Korea and the US have agreed to further discuss Seoul's wish to get out of a 1979 bilateral agreement that prevents it from developing ballistic missiles with ranges of over 180 kilometers. Some South Korean officials believe that the agreement is harming efforts to deter threats of missile attack from North Korea. Analysts say that South Korea's request might have an impact on US efforts to make North Korea reduce it's ballistic missile program.
