Who really has the power in Hollywood?

Article Abstract:

The lack of black power in Hollywood occurs mainly because blacks do not have powerful positions in film studios and the track record of black writers and actors is ignored. Some blacks forget their origins after becoming powerful, and do not help others. Most of the power in Hollywood lies in the hands of white males. To gain power, it is necessary for the blacks to develop their infrastructure, become self-reliant, and make films about their issues rather than relying on someone else to do so.

The question of citizenship in the Baltics

Article Abstract:

The sovereign Baltic states of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania were restored into the community of nations after the fall of the former USSR in 1991. This emphasis on continuity with the republics that existed before these countries were annexed into the former USSR by Josef Stalin in 1940 accounted for the problematic citizenship policies in Estonia and Latvia. Lithuania has so far avoided these problems by making naturalization automatic on the request of permanent residents.

A question of color: defining race in our ethnic rainbow

Article Abstract:

There is no consensus among blacks about what to call their ethnic group and whether these labels do more harm than good. Golfer Tiger Woods refuses to label himself as black because his ancestry includes Native American, Chinese and Caucasian. Other light-skinned blacks are proud of their African-American ancestry.
