Adverse effects of predictive testing for Huntington disease underestimated: long-term effects 7-10 years after the test

Article Abstract:

Psychological effects of predictive testing for Huntington disease in individuals and partners over a seven- to ten-year period were examined. Post-test results indicate that distress among carriers and their partners varies with time, and that follow-up studies need to be spread over a longer period to fully understand the impact of such testing.
