Delinquency in male adolescents: The role of alexithymia and family structure

Article Abstract:

A study examines the linkages between alexithymia and delinquency in male adolescents aged 14 to 18 years, and investigates whether alexithymia is a good discriminatory factor for juvenile delinquency. Findings reveal that offender adolescents scored high on alexithymia and that the proportion of disrupted family structure among offenders was higher than in non-offenders.
