Do street youths perceptions of their caregiver predict HIV-risk behavior?

Article Abstract:

Street youths perception of their caregiver and the association between these perceptions and HIV-risk behavior in a random probability sample of 715 were examined. Although youths reported high rate of hostility, unavailability, substance use and legal problems among their caregivers, 86% reported that their caregiver had at least one attribute associated with support.

Examining the origins of gender differences in marital quality: A behavior genetic analysis

Article Abstract:

Gender differences in marital quality with mixed results were examined by looking for genetic and environmental sources of variation in marital quality. Results are discussed in the context of previous research on social support and implications for the future studies of the etiology of marital quality.

In the eyes of the beholder: Cognitive appraisal as mediators of the association between interparental conflict and youth maladjustment

Article Abstract:

The potential mediating role of perceived threat and self-blame was tested among a large number of children. The findings indicated that children's beliefs about interparental conflict play an important role in their adjustment to the family stressor.
