Emmwood

Article Abstract:

Cartoonist and painter John Musgrave-Wood, known as Emmwood, studied at Leeds College of Art before sailing round the world on a cruise liner. He became a PT instructor in the Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry in 1939, and subsequently served in India. He studied painting at Goldsmiths' College in London, England, from 1948, and began selling colour caricatures of celebrities to weekly magazine Tatler & Bystander. He became Political Cartoonist on the London Evening Standard in 1955.

Agencies to cooperate on new & traditional ways to market

Article Abstract:

American Advertising Services Inc and Professional Web Concepts (PWC) of Philadelphia and Bryn Mawr, PA, respectively have announced a joint venture. Praxis Data Systems, a computer network specialist based in Mt Laurel, NJ, will also participate in the joint venture. American Advertising is a traditional advertising and public relations company, while PWC are creators of Web pages, multimedia, Internet-related services and hosting.

Political events and consumer confidence in Belgium

Article Abstract:

The effects of political events on consumer confidence are studied. Political events such as the announcement of elections, the election results and government changes are argued to change consumer expectations on future policies. This theory is applied on Belgian consumer confidence data. Unexpected elections and new governments are found to have an impact on economic variables.
