Sexual knowledge among Norwegian adolescents

Article Abstract:

The results of a study of sexual knowledge among Norwegian adolescents reveals that complete knowledge on sexual physiology and anatomy, sexually transmitted diseases, pregnancy, and contraception does not exist among the adolescents. The data for the study was collected from a postal survey of 3000 adolescents all over Norway in the age group of 17 to 19. The girls had a higher level of sexual knowledge than the boys, which increased with age. The results also showed that sexual knowledge had no influence on the use of contraceptives.

Adolescents' bereavement experiences: prevalence, association with depressive symptoms, and use of services

Article Abstract:

This article examines bereavement, depression, and counseling service use among English adolescents who lost a close friend or relative. Findings indicate that bereavement experiences were prevalent among teenagers, that depression was associated with how much the loss impacted the teenager's life, and that most subjects did not use counseling services.
