Contract farming restructures

Article Abstract:

Significant changes are taking place among contract farming companies in the UK. Transacre, Hirst Farms and Horsey Hall Farm Partnership have merged to create Progrow, a new contract farming concern. This will initially have 2,400 ha, but is investing in machinery and grain storage facilities. Broadoak Farming is calling on its shareholders to approve a merger with CWS Agriculture. The merged concerns would farm 32,375 ha. Sentry Farming and Broadoak are both restructuring their contract agreements with landowner/farmers in order to share risk more evenly.

Stroop interference and food intake

Article Abstract:

The eating-related stimuli become biased by the eating of a small amount of palatable food in normal unrestrained subjects. There is a strong correlation between the amount of ad libitum food taken by the subject and the attentional bias. The restrained eaters are hyperattentive to eating. The attentional bias for stimuli related with body shape is more for nonrestrained eaters as compared to that of restrained eaters. The measurement of attentional bias is done by Stroop interface.
