The EAS temperament questionnaire-factor structure, age trends, reliability, and stability in a Norwegian sample

Article Abstract:

A study aimed to examined the applicability of the EAS Temperament Questionnaire to a population of Norwegian children. The cross-validation of the temperament factors of emotionality, activity and shyness, showed a covariance structure conforming to three scales described by Rowe and Plomin and Boer and Westenberg. The factor structure did not show substantial variations with the age of the children, and no strong gender differences were found. However emotionality and shyness were found to increase from 18-50 months, while activity and sociability decreased.

Visual exploratory behavior in infancy and novelty seeking in adolescence: Two developmentally specific phenotypes of DRD4

Article Abstract:

The association between visual exploratory behavior in early infancy, novelty seeking (NS) in adolescence, and the diplomatic D4 receptor (DRD4) genotype is investigated. Early visual attention and later novelty seeking are associated with DRD4 exon III polymorphism and individuals carrying 7r allele of DRD4 exhibited both greater rates of attention decrement in infancy and higher NS scores in adolescence.

The association of the dopamine D4 receptor gene (DRD4) and the serotonin transporter promoter gene (5-HTTLPR) with temperament in 12-month-old infants

Article Abstract:

Research on the genetic aspects of temperament and personality in infants is examined, focusing on how positive and negative emotionality may be influenced by the common polymorphic forms of the dopamine D4 receptor (DRD4) and the serotonin transporter promoter (5-HTTLPR) genes. Researchers observed anger, fear, pleasure, activity, and interest in infants engaged in a block play and free play environment.
