Why do individuals with anorexia die? A case of sudden death

Article Abstract:

The case of the sudden death of a 36-year-old woman with longstanding anorexia nervosa (AN) that revealed some unexpected autopsy findings is discussed. The case illustrates that in AN, pathology might not manifest with obvious clinical features and therefore a high level of clinical vigilance is required.
