The corporate serviced apartments market in the UK is growing, with 45% of users coming from the US. Many of the apartments are converted from office developments. They offer the corporate user a base on a short term lease. They are less costly to run than hotels as they offer fewer services. The quality of the accommodation is high and users can take up which services they require. Thistle Hotels has opened a serviced apartment scheme in London, England. Some US operators are moving in to the UK market. The cost of an apartment in London, is on average, 4,000 pounds sterling per month.
