Managing the info-age enterprise: you're either wired or (maybe) fired

Article Abstract:

A business enterprise has to consider advances in information technology to create a global workforce, enhance productivity, reduce costs, and most essentially, remain competitive and not be left behind by the majority. In the case of the corporate real estate industry, information age has redirected business location management. A central operations facility as well as strategically located manufacturing and research centers are no longer necessary given modern equipment to facilitate communications, data processing and transport.

Locating in North America: a site selection primer

Foreign corporate site seekers should follow some guidelines in setting up shop in North America. These include avoiding assumptions that domestic business models can be applied outside their borders, determining the availability of skilled labor, becoming aware of restrictions on acquisitions or mergers in certain industries, taking advantage of the various incentives offered to foreign investors and learning about the North American real estate environment.

Ringing up Europe: the continent's call center explosion

Article Abstract:

European consumers' changing habits and attitudes such as an increased willingness to conduct business by telephone have generated a call center explosion, with approximately $200 bil in annual value. Unification and the Euro have made the continent attractive for call center locations. Europe's call center covers both outbound and inbound operations such as sales, telemarketing and market research.
