Article Abstract:

The use of Lancaster Castle in Lancaster, England, as a prison is severely impacting the town's tourist industry. The castle, currently a popular attraction, would become more attractive if were wholly available to sightseers, according to tourist industry representatives. A number of river quayside residential developments have been built. The retail property business PRICOA Northern Retail Property Fund has leased a 250 meter square property in the area.

The retail property sector in Wilmslow, England, is booming. Low retail site rents and pedestrian shopping areas have encouraged retailers back into the town after a period of poor activity in the early 1990s. Wilmslow's office market is also performing well. Wilmslow has a skilled labour force and increasingly good communications via rail, road and air.
