Prime pitches

Article Abstract:

Some observers suggest planning permission for the construction of new football stadiums is treated more favourably, by local authorities, than other projects. The Arsenal Football Club, London, England, was permitted to extend its buildings whilst other leisure operators would have been prevented in making such changes. Some new football stadiums are being constructed on contaminated land, whilst the old stadiums are sold for other uses, such as residential housing. New football stadiums often combine other leisure and some retail facilities within the new buildings.

Serious drinking room

Article Abstract:

It is important to establish effective relationships with commercial property consultants, according to Bob Holtham, acquisitions director at Scottish and Newcastle Retail. However, he will also establish an in-house team, employing eight new surveyors, of whom two will work in Scotland. Scottish and Newcastle plans to open between 10 and 15 outlets a year in Scotland alone in the period to 2001. These will be equally divided between in-town and out-of-town locations.
