DTZ's newly appointed European Chairman Mathias Muller admits he dislikes mergers. He explains he wanted to stop the planned strategic alliance with CB Commercial as he felt they were looking to acquire DTZ. He will be more focused on planning for the future rather than operational issues in his new role. Muller is quite willing to sack staff who are not performing and has already dismissed some 25% of DTZ workers since joining the company in 1997. DTZ has 88 offices in 18 European countries and employs some 2,300 workers.
