Article Abstract:

There are a number of employees in the UK property industry who enjoy keeping farmyard animals. Jill Clarke of Savills, for example, is very fond of Murray Grey cattle, and has seen success showing them. Honor Chapman of Jones Lang Wootton has a herd of Jersey cattle which is regarded as one of the best in the world, while Mark Stanley-Smith of Crest Nicholson Properties also has a pedigree herd. James Way, a partner at Knight Frank, is very fond of sheep, and has a herd of purebred Oxford Down sheep on his 25-acre smallholding.

A meeting of minds

Article Abstract:

The interests of the tenant and the landlord are best served if the two sides work together, according to Roger Carey and Jim McAllister, joint chief executives of Rutland Group. The concern was founded by McAllister in 1983, and is now to be 50%-owned by Carey. The two men will initially focus on building up Rutland's asset management work around its existing commitment to Hanover Property Unit Trust. However, they will also seek to expand the company's own asset base.
