Siemens scores for North East

Article Abstract:

The property market in the North East England has been boosted by financial incentives and the successful development of enterprise zones, which together have attracted a great deal of inward investment to the region. Leading international groups including Samsung, Nissan and Siemens have all chosen the North East for large investments, and these investments are in turn generating investments by firms in spin-off sectors. This inward investment is expected to continue in the future, given the region's good communications, infrastructure and high-quality labour force.

In reach, out of favour

Article Abstract:

There are still very mixed trends in the property sector in the Kent town of Maidstone, even though it now enjoys good road links. The town has traditionally acted as a key retail centre, but there is now strong competition from out-of-town developments. The office market has been weak over recent years, with lower quality space commanding only very low rents. No office development work is currently taking place.

Ready for kick-off

Article Abstract:

Many football clubs will be considering combining retail, leisure and food service elements in their new, all-seater stadia. The plans for new stadia are the result of stricter safety standards imposed by the UK government. The football clubs' existing brand image is an attraction for leisure operators who are evaluating the potential of such an investment.
