Article Abstract:

The '1999 Industrial Floorspace Survey' for the United Kingdom found the amount of new floorspace had increased by 6%, which accounted for 7% of all stock. Some 55% of industrial investment took place in the South East of England during Jan-Sep 1999. Land in Gateshead, England, had increased in value by 36% during Jun 1998-Jun 1999. The highest rents per sq ft in Sept 1999 were at Heathrow (Bath Road), England, at 10.25 pounds sterling an increase of 5.7% since 1998. It is predicted rents in Belfast, Northern Ireland, will rise by 9.9% during Sep 1999-2004.
