A hi-tech boom helps the medicine go down

Article Abstract:

The drug delivery sector has expanded rapidly over recent years, and now accounts for $12 billion of the $150 billion global pharmaceutical market. This sector is expanding by between 15% and 20% a year, much more rapidly than the pharmaceutical market as a whole. There are now many different drug delivery technologies, but there is particular interest in delivery systems for protein and peptide-based compounds being developed by the biotechnology industry.

To live and cover-drive in LA

Article Abstract:

The traditional British sport of cricket is becoming increasingly popular in Los Angeles, CA. A group of tough young men has formed a cricket team known as the Homeys and the Pops, and this team is shortly to undertake a 19-day trip as a follow-up tour to the one it undertook in the UK in 1997. Some observers believe that cricket has considerable potential to restore discipline and respect for authority among young men from poor neighbourhoods.

Long live France, and down with Greenpeace!

Article Abstract:

The French media was generally unwiling to openly condemn the recent highly controversial testing of nuclear weapons in the South Pacific. Some newspapers adopted a tone of self-pity as France attracted international criticism, while others dismissed rioting in Tahiti as simply a conspiracy organised by Greenpeace. Regional newspapers generally had a reflective tone, questioning the motive for resuming testing.
