All rise for the second coming of James

Article Abstract:

Music group James, formed in 1982, seemed to be just one of a number of groups to have come out of Manchester, England. It never really managed to prevent itself being overshadowed by that city's most successful groups. However, it now seems to be experiencing a revival. Its single 'She's A Star,' released at the end of 1997, was very successful, and it is now to release 'Destiny Calling' and a Best of CD. The group will undertake a small tour in the UK in Apr 1998, having mainly only toured in the US since 1993.

The rise and rise of Vladimir Vasiliev

Article Abstract:

Many observers welcome the fact that Vladimir Vasiliev has taken over as artistic director of the Bolshoi Theatre, Moscow, from Yuri Grigorovich, who was highly respected but was seen as having been in control for too long. Vasiliev has a much more open, relaxed approach, and now plans to revive the theatre. He is particularly keen to establish links with the outside world, as the threatre has been isolated for many years.
