Blair's Britain: only the beginning

Article Abstract:

It seems increasingly likely that the UK Labour party will win the forthcoming general election. The impact which this change of government will have on the country will depend partly on the margin by which the Labour party wins the election. Labour party leader Tony Blair has already been extremely influential in UK politics, especially in making it possible for the middle classes to consider voting Labour. If he decides to make constitutional changes, then the Conservative party could be out of power for a very long time.

Blair aim is a mixture of idealism and realism

Article Abstract:

The UK's new government will show a firm commitment to long-term policies and to modernization, according to Prime Minister Tony Blair. The top priority will be education, creating a nation of highly skilled individuals. The government is also keen to create more positive links with the UK's European Union partners. It will work towards economic stability, and will improve standards in public life. Blair himself will provide strong leadership.

Why can't you be bold and brave at home as well, Mr Blair?

Article Abstract:

The UK Labour party is showing a lack of ambition as it seeks to retain the political centre ground. Prime Minister Tony Blair must show greater courage if he really wishes to bring about a change in the direction of UK politics. He has shown recently in his approach to foreign affairs that he is willing to take risks, and he must now transfer this into domestic policy.
